Wedding FAQs

How long have you been making wedding cakes? Baked and Caked started in 2020, and have successfully been part of over 150 weddings.

Do you have a storefront? As of now, there is no storefront presence, though that is something I aspire for! Like many wedding baker professionals, I also operate under cottage food law from my licensed and insured home kitchen.

How much does a wedding cake cost? All cakes are custom and are priced out by serving amount and design. All cakes start at $6.50 per serving and go up based on design. Ex. 100 servings starts at $650 before tax and delivery. To receive a quote, please inquire!

Do you offer desserts other than cakes? Yes! While we specialize in wedding cakes, cupcakes and custom cookies, other desserts are available. Dessert table packages are available for all guest counts, and come with a cake, cupcakes and other dessert options, enough for 1-2 per guest. Please inquire to get a full breakdown and list of dessert options.

Where are you located and how far will you travel? We are located in North Forsyth/Gainesville(30506) and service Atlanta through North GA. While most of our deliveries are within an hour away, we are willing to travel up to two hours away.

What payment types do you accept? We use Square Invoice systems for all payments. Once you confirm you want to move forward, an invoice will be sent via email which will direct you to payment online. Unfortunately, we do not accept cash, check, Venmo, cash app or Zelle.

When should we book our wedding cake/desserts? The short answer is as soon as you know you want me as your baker! Most inquire and secure their wedding date on my calendar between 4-12 months in advance, sometimes less depending on availability! Some times of the year book earlier than others, like April, May and June or September, October and November. Keep in mind the wedding location and guest count of wedding can sometimes book me up for the whole day.

How do we secure our wedding date on your calendar? To reserve your wedding date, there is a $250 nonrefundable deposit/retainer, which goes towards your order total. Dates are not secured without this payment. First come, first serve!

Do you have a minimum for weddings? Yes, weddings do have a $500 minimum. If you plan to have 75 guests or more, this is easily doable.

Do you offer tastings? Yes, tastings boxes are available. These are offered 1-2 weekends each month, with set pick up dates and times. Tastings are a fee of $40 plus tax and come with six of my most ordered cake flavors. Not every flavor is available for tasting, as tasting boxes are a lot of labor and would be impossible to give everyone exactly what they want and keep up with current client orders. Pick up address will be given once payment has been received, as this is a private residence. Located on Westside of Lake Lanier~Gainesville/North Forsyth 30506.

Do you hold dates while we wait for a tasting box? No, dates are not secure until your $250 retainer has been paid. It is highly recommended to secure your wedding date, as your wedding date could get taken by the time your ready to order a tasting box.

What if we are out of state and won’t be in town the dates you offer tasting boxes? If you are coming in from out of state, I will do my best to accommodate; just communicate with me!

Are you able to make cake flavors outside of your menu? If the ingredients fall in line with what I already keep for inventory, absolutely.

When is the final payment taken? The final invoice for remaining balance is sent out six weeks prior to your wedding date, with a final due date one month prior to your wedding date. If payment is not received by the one month mark, there is a $10 fee each day it’s late. Final payments are not accepted any earlier than 6 weeks prior to your wedding date.

Do you offer kitchen cakes? Yes, we do offer kitchen cakes to wedding orders that order a two tier cake or larger. These are slightly discounted and priced at $200 and feed 40-50 servings.

Are you vegan or gluten free friendly? Absolutely! Several of my flavors can be done vegan or gluten free. I do not recommend for serious gluten allergies as my kitchen uses regular flour 99% of the time and cross contamination is definitely possible. Though I am unable to provide tastings of vegan or gluten free items.

Can you replicate an inspiration photo? It is impossible to replicate an inspiration photo 100%, as I do not know what that baker did or used to create their designs. We do our best to give you the wedding cake of your dream, whether its from interpreting an inspiration photo and put my own twist or recreate a cake from our portfolio!

Do you provide a contract and if so, when? Yes, contracts are provided for all weddings that book with me directly. Once your menu and design is confirmed, a contract will be put in place with all details needed for your wedding order and delivery. This will need to be signed by both the client and by me, for us to both keep on file!

Do you offer delivery and does this include set up? Yes delivery is required for all weddings! We have an hourly rate plus $.75 per mile round trip. Think of delivery as more of a convenience. Our delivery service includes set up and we have all the proper tools and food safety training to deliver and set up your wedding order safely and sound to your event. With windy mountain rounds in North GA or constant traffic through Atlanta, we use a cake safe for all tiered cakes to insure nothing happens to your precious cargo while traveling. While our cakes/desserts don’t necessarily require refrigeration, its definitely encouraged, and we make sure everything is refrigerated up until delivery, and deliver with insulated bags and AC on full blast. When we arrive to your venue/location for delivery, we then set up your wedding cake/desserts and will come to room temperature in time for the reception and cake cutting tradition!

What time do you recommend delivery? Usually 1-2 hours before guests start to arrive. For weddings, delivery is usually 1-2 hours before the ceremony. Our cakes are crafted and built to sit out through the ceremony and until the cake cutting during the reception.

Will you add florals to the cake or should my florist? For liability purposes, we add florals to the cake, not the florist. Respectfully, florists are not bakers and are not trained in food safety. We come fully prepared to take any and all food safety precautions when prepping florals to be added to your cake, and come with extra materials incase your cake needs a patch up!

Do you offer cake stand or dessert display rentals? Yes, we have a variety of display items available for rental! Pricing varies item to item; there is a rental fee along with a refundable deposit incase its not returned on time or if there are damages. We will bring the item with us to your wedding delivery and set up. Once the event is over, it is your responsibility to return the item(s) back to us via porch drop off or shipping no later than the Wednesday following your event.

Do you stay through the wedding to cut the cake? Unfortunately that is not something that is offered for our delivery service. Most weekends, we have several deliveries to work through, so staying to cut the cake is just not possible. Inquire with your caterer or venue, they should have these services!

Are we allowed to decrease or increase our order, if our guest count is less or more than expected? Once you have confirmed your order and it is contracted, decreasing your order is not possible, however increasing your order is absolutely possible. As a baker who books months or a year in advance, I financially plan and schedule other clients accordingly. I always suggest aiming 10-15% lower than your expected guest count, and adding more cake/desserts on once we get closer and your guest count is much higher than expected!

Do you provide boxes for leftovers? We try to eliminate any unnecessary waste, so we deliver all of our cakes/desserts in cake safes or reusable containers. That being said, we do not factor boxes into pricing to save on cost for our clients. If you wish to add on boxes, please let us know!

Are anniversary cakes still a thing? Yes, they are! Traditionally, couples would save the top tier of their wedding cake, throw it in the freezer and pull it out on their one year anniversary. Despite this tradition, we do not recommend saving the top tier, as it takes away from the cakes serving amount, plus its messy with potential florals and cake dowel supports. We recommend adding on an anniversary cake that comes boxed and ready to take home on your wedding day, this is a 4” size cake just enough for two people with a simple white buttercream design and only available as an add on to a wedding.

Are we able to order a small cake for our wedding, if it doesn’t meet your minimum? This is no longer something I am willing to accommodate. Wedding cakes and desserts are a liability for us and we are not willing to risk anything for our reputation.
